THE BEST HOMEMADE LEMON BARS
INGREDIENTS
- Crust:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Filling:
- 3 cups sugar
- 6 large eggs, beaten
- lemon zest of 1 lemon
- 1 cup lemon juice, fresh or bottled
- 1 cup flour
- Topping:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
INSTRUCTIONS
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Spray a 9x13-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
- Cream together softened butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl.
- Add flour and salt and mix until blended.
- Press into the bottom of prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes.
- While crust is cooking, make filling by mixing together sugar, eggs, lemon zest, lemon juice, and flour.
